Justine Greening has announced a £23 million fund to support children from poorer backgrounds who have a special talent.
This is part of a relaunched strategy where the aim is to give talented children from poorer backgrounds a chance to thrive in their education.
Ideas on how to challenge this problem will begin soon and we could find out about possible mentoring schemes and extra activities for brighter pupils.
Justine Greening has also stated the importance of how a child needs a good education when they are in their early years. The support of a £50 million fund has been allocated to encourage the opening of nurseries in areas of low childcare provision. This might also help with the support for children in poorer areas.
The plan has been questioned in some quarters, but only time will tell as to whether the £23 million fund has helped inspire brighter children!
