A blog about blogs!

A blog about blogs!

At CASCAID, we make every effort to provide you with interesting and informative blogs, from discussion pieces about current sector news to updates about our products, services and events.

The word ‘blog’ now pops up in everyday conversations – we hear it everywhere. ‘Have you read my blog?’ ‘Read ‘so-and-sos’ blog – it’s very topical.’ Want to know how to do something – ‘there’s a blog about that!’

But, what is a blog? And, how did it all come about?

According to Wikipedia:

‘A blog is a discussion or informational website published on the World Wide Web consisting of discrete, often informal diary-style text entries (“posts”). Posts are typically displayed in reverse chronological order, so that the most recent post appears first, at the top of the web page.’

Originally, the term ‘weblog’ was coined in the late 1990s and was then shortened to ‘blog’. Blogging occurred with the arrival of web publishing tools and the need for content for non-technical users who did not have much experience with computer programming.

Blogging rapidly gained popularity and today, over 2million blogs are published daily.

At CASCAID, we have been ‘blogging’ since 2010 and so far, have posted 90 blogs this year.

We recently reviewed our own site and thought we’d share some of our interesting stats with you:

  • Most popular day is Tuesday
  • Most popular hour of read in a day is 11am
  • Total followers via social media is 2,956
  • Total number of views is 43,697
  • Total number of unique visitors is 15,552
  • Best day and month in CASCAID blogging history is June 23rd 2017

This may only be a very small achievement in ‘blogging history’ but none the less, we’re very proud!

What do you think about our blogs? Are there topics you would like to see discussed? Why not add your comments. We’d love to hear from you.

In the meantime, follow us on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn – not just about CASCAID products, we include topical news and articles that we believe will interest you. And, we link our blogs to social media too. Follow us and see…
